Windsurfing: Blithfield Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 16 to 40 mph Surf / Sea State: Close shop Air Temperature: 15 Sea Temperature: OK Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
SW is on-shore at Blithfield so I went upwind to avoid the choppy water on
the clubhouse side. This worked really well and I had some flat-out runs
along the far shore. The water was really smooth, but it was hard to spot
the gusts with the low sun and with being close to the shore. The wind
picked up and I downhauled in the water (easy with the North ratchet).
Decided it was time for a sandwich, which meant white knuckle runs down
wind through the chop back to the clubhouse.
Struggled a bit with gybes in the chop - think I was putting too much
pressure on the front hand and stuffing the board into the chop - tried
less pressure going in and then plenty of back foot and that seemed a lot
better.
I rigged a smaller sail and the wind died - just as well because I am cream
crackered now. A good afternoon.
